Let It Snow - REVIEW

Hello again! Today's post is my review of Let It Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson! Enjoyyy Let It Snow - REVIEW Let It Snow is a collection of three Christmas-themed stories that all link together at the end. All three stories are cute, cozy and just lovely, focussing on teenagers around Christmas and of course spreading the Christmas joy. I really enjoyed this book as it was fairly quick to read and really got me in the Christmas mood.  Rating - ★★★★★ Who ? - I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to get into the Christmas spirit. Best enjoyed with a cuppa and fluffy blanket ;) That's it for today, let me know if you have read Let It Snow and what you thought of it! See you tomorrow,  Lucy x

Christmas TBR

Hello everyone and welcome to the first blog post of 12 Days of Blogmas! I'm super excited for the next 12 days and have lots of fun content coming for you, some bookish, some foody and all christmassy! I hope you enjoy! I'm going to be super active on my socials so make sure you join in the conversations there as well! Anyways, onto today's post: My Christmas TBR. Christmas TBR 2019 A Christmas Carol  I have, of course, read this before, in fact I have studied this book HARD in school. So, I thought, as I have 3 weeks of minimal homework, and Charles Dickens basically invented Christmas with this book, that I would read it! I've never read it for pleasure before and I'm very excited as it's only a novella and shouldn't take me long to read. Plus it's valuable revision so BONUS! Salt to the Sea  This book has been on my Goodreads TBR for a while now, and I thought what better time to read it than the Christmas holidays? This book is a hist

Adapt App

As many of you may have seen from my social medias, I have recently been made an ambassador for an app called Adapt. Because I have been made an ambassador, I got early access to the app. Adapt is an app which helps you to organise you revision. With nearly all of the subjects for GCSEs, it helps you to organise your homework and your revision so everything is managed and you are prepared for your exams. Once you have finished the topic, the app asks you how confident you feel so that it can re-recommend the topic and it asks you how long it took you. I've only had access for a few days, and already feel way more productive! The app itself is still in Beta testing, which means it isn't available on the app store or google play. You can sign up to test the app by going to this link  getadapt.co.uk  . The app is due to be released to everyone in January, by this time it will be perfect. My thoughts about the app already are that it is really, really helpful! I love the colo

The Paper and Hearts Society | REVIEW

The Paper & Hearts Society  By Lucy Powrie Synopsis: Tabby Brown is tired of trying to fit in. She doesn't want to go to parties - in fact, she would much rather snuggle up on the sofa with her favourite book.  It's like she hasn't found her people... Then Tabby joins a club that promises to celebrate books. What could go wrong? Everything - especially when making new friends sparks an awkward buzzing feeling all over her body.  But Olivia, Cassie, Henry and Ed have something that makes Tabby come back. Maybe it's the Austen-themed fancy-dress parties, or Ed's fluffy cat Mrs Simpkins, or even Henry himself... Can Tabby let her weird out and live the best bookish life possible? Okay. This book. Wow. I loved it so much. Lucy Powrie did an amazing job with covering important issues in this generation, such as bullying, grief and mental health, whilst portraying relatable, loveable and diverse characters. The way she wrote each character made me r

Map of Days by Ransom Riggs | REVIEW

Map of Days - Ransom Riggs. I love to read Ransom Rigg’s books because they are just the right amount of exciting, sad, funny and are all absolute page turners. Having read the first three books, this book was everything that I had expected from Riggs and more. It covered relatable topics, like family issues, relationships, and friendships, in an unrelatable way. After the first three books, there was little character development needed for the main characters but the development of new characters was perfect. Even though Riggs has written three other books based on the same story line, he never ran out of plotlines and just as many plot twists as well. As I mentioned before, the book was very exciting and I definitely recommend reading not only this book but the rest of the series too!

Mirror Mirror by Cara Delevigne | REVIEW

review: Mirror Mirror by Cara Delevigne with Rowan Coleman.  My rating: 4.5 of 5.  This book is about four GCSE aged students living in the suburbs of London who formed a band. When one of their bandmates goes missing, their lives are turned upside down. The book follows the narrator, Red, find their way through the forest of their emotions and the path of which they follow to find who they truly are as a person.  I loved this book more than I expected to, I actually put off reading it for a year! The narrator's character is very well thought out and developed, you learn more about them the more you read the book. The way Delevign and Coleman portrayed each character was in a way in which everyone, from every walk of life, can relate to on some level. The experiences that the two authors wrote about are not just relatable, typical - teenage stories but really important issues that should be discussed and talked about more. I really enjoyed reading this book and lear

Climate Change

Climate change. Global warming. Greenhouse gases. Fossil fuels. It all sounds very similar to a science lesson, doesn't it? On this post, I am going to tell you a bit about all of these, but if you would like to read the information in a bit more detail visit these websites: https://www.wwf.org.uk/what-we-do/area-of-work/climate-change-and-energy and https://www.dummies.com/education/science/environmental-science/global-warming-for-dummies-cheat-sheet/ If you've noticed recently that there has been more storms, more floods and more cases of extreme weather, this is all because of climate change. The Earth's atmosphere has been warming quicker than it has ever before recently, in fact, it's temperature has increased by nearly 1degree in the last century. Climate change causes so many problems as well as making existing problems like poverty and extinction even harder to solve. If you are totally new to what climate change is, here are some facts that I found inter
